Here, we can discuss Scribblenauts, an amazing game out September 25th (Europe, forgot US, but yeah, the US will get it before Europe)

For those of you who don't know what it is, it's a game where you can type any word (Has to be an item, plus dead celebrities have been flung in there) onto the DS' touch screen, and it appears. Use any item to get through hundreds of levels, eg getting an item out of a tree. You could simply bomb it or cut it down, or do something imaginitive, like getting on a panda on a unicycle! (Dev's example)

So... is anyone else looking forward to it? How's everyone going to get the item outta the tree?

The game is due to be out in the U.S. on September 15th. On a side note, anyone who preorders the game through GameStop gets a real version of the hat worn by the main character of the game, Maxwell.

Anyway, it's looking really cool. The game has some interesting puzzles, and the more of them I see the more intrigued I get. There was one about a beached whale, and one of the ways it was solved is pretty much what hooked me onto the game; Most players just used a vehicle to push the whale, others dug under it so the sand would fall out and the whale would roll into the ocean. One player tied four or five balloons to the whale, then spawned a fan that blew the balloons toward the ocean, which dragged the whale slowly back into the water, making quite a creative approach to the problem.

The game deserves any media coverage it gets. It's rather dissappointing, though, that many previewers have just focused on seeing if they can find words to stump the game rather than actually previewing it properly, but I think the point of the game will get accross nontheless.

Uh, Languages?

I'm expecting some crazy level ideas. Plus free play ideas, where you just type things and see what they do. I saw someone make God fight Isaac Newton.

I've personally seen god on a skateboard weilding a shotgun fighting Cthulu. So I expect very good and odd things for this game.

It looks really cool to experiment with, but let's hope the game has actually interesting puzzles too - if everything can be solved by typing "God" it would be only a character spawner in the end.

I have the feeling the game feels so vast because of a psychological trick or summat where people are certain to choose from a selection of certain words. It's just too grand to be true, honestly

For some reason, I doubt that, from what I've seen and read.

If this puzzle someone at Kotaku did is any indication of some of the medium-level puzzles, I look forward to what some of the harder ones look like.

And beyond that, I've read of a challenge mode where you're forced to use different items to solve the same puzzle each time you play it, so hopefully that can make players cough up some creativity in solving them.

Personally can't wait for this. This and Brutal Legend are my two most awaited titles for the rest of the year.

To those who currently doubt this game, I direct you to Post 217 over at GAF.

It's called amazon.

If you're underage, buy one of those "gift card" credit cards at your local grocery/department store to use that.

It's not official. A bunch of posters at NeoGAF are making Scribblenauts avatars for people. I still have to wait to make my request though since there's so many people =/

Ach, Scribblenauts! Looks to me like it'll be the greatest thing since... good... thing. But yeah, I'm massively looking forward to it. I swear I've EATEN like everything anybody has ever said about it, and the music won't really get out of my head...

Should be some super-fun situations, though. And while it's awesome that it's a DS game, it would be cool if they had a PC version. Why, you ask? MODS. Modding this game to have anything and everything would be fantastic. The ultimate cure to any debate...

My only concern is that with all the time they put into creating stuff, I have to wonder if they focused on how much fun it retains. I hope this si the sort of game you can play for months and never get bored of.

Yup. You can spend forever entering random words, like making the grim reaper ride the Roflcopter while eating cake with a chainsaw. Epic.

I put it on reserve. I'm just hoping it will be all the fun the hype is making it out to be. I've watched some videos on the gameplay and it looks to be promising, but I'm really hoping it's the game I'm hoping it to be and not some terrible disappointment that I wasted my money on. All in all though, I have to say the concept at least is quite nice.

I'm gonna battle the grim reaper with nothing but a diving helmet and a lollipop. If things take a turn for the worse, I'll summon Leeroy Jenkins and give him a donkey, a carrot, and a rope. What happens next is up to him. I'll ten make a tree and fly up to it with my helibackpack for safety. Once the battle is over, I'll give a baby my lollipop, make a thief to steal the lollipop, and then get a superhero with laser goggles. And then I'll summon Cthulu to clean up the mess. FUN.
