How the hell is it done? I'm sure we've all seen them. Some of Godot, some of Edgeworth, Von Karma. but how the HELL is it done? I simply cannot figure it out and it would be greatly appreciated if someone could inform me how it is done.

Thanks in advance.

That might look decently good if you filled the background with more black.

And maybe after you do that, add a very small amount of blur to make the pixelation less visible, and then select all the black with the Magic Wand- Tolerance 0- including incontiguous pixels- to fill it with a gradient effect, and then stick a Photoshop lens flare on the fingertip, and use a layer of Monochromatic Noise with Motion Blur to add speedlines and, andand-

The font they use looks a lot like Cooper Black.

Seriously though, the more features of Photoshop you learn how to use, the more you can do with it.

How much Photoshop-fu do you know now? Maybe we can give you tips to improve.

I made just about all of them... I think. Except one...

It's rather easy.

step one: you need the siluette. Have a sprite, and fill it with white colour. If it has a mouth or something, remove that. Then soften it afterwards so it's not so rough.

step two: the text. I believe I used times new roman. Be sure to make it a VERY large fontsize, and make sure not to have any shading on the text. And make it blue. Make the text a normal layer (use fill somewhere and it'll prompt you), select the text. Use gradient colours taken from the colours you want to imitate. Extend by whatever pixels, then fill the new selected area with black. Same goes with sub text. Behind the subtext there is a long bar. Use gradient fill for this one.

step three: snapping everything into place. Scale down everything so it fits, and put the siluette where it's needed. Now, go into all the small areas in the middle of the name-text and fill them with white (in areas where they are open, you need to find a edge where it will stop). Alternately, do this step before scaling down, if you so desire. As for the star, just copy it off the original.

And that's it. If you wish for it to have a black edge, you can do that as well, obviously.

Erm, I've just made one for Ini Miney and yes, it's Times New Roman with Faux Bold in Photoshop. I'm afraid it takes a while to make the star:
