Also, would you please allow me to use the younger Mia helper edits? Just for this one case (as of now), to go with my Diego sprites. (See sprite topic for those). Please? I really want that case to look good and realistic. Thanks!
NOTE: You can see Maya's hair in the edit at the bottom on all of them. And it might be worthwhile to make a talking/looking at witness sprite ;)

Ah. Maybe then also use the glare one (this is gonna sound so hypocritical) and have her head facing down a bit, like a lot of people do when they glare. Otherwise that one looks good!

CBK- In general, you do want to resize and rotate in Rotsprite. You have to tweak them, but it'll be a lot less tweaking in the end. Avoid using the brush tool whenever possible; you will have to tweak anything done with the brush as well. Use the 1px pencil whenever possible and soften the lines manually using shades from the sprite and the 1px pencil.
If you really want to use the brush, it is possible. I used it for Demyx's hair. Draw whatever you're editing as cleanly as possible using the shades you want it to be (usually only 3-5 for any color), then index/import the palette when you're done. I don't know how to do this in Photoshop, I usually draw in Photoshop then continue in Paint Shop Pro. n_n''
Then you will still have to clean it up manually with a 1 px pencil, especially the edges. I usually fill the background with a medium gray, then clean up any pixels on the edge that are lighter than the background. Spriting is not so much about artistic talent as patience and attention to detail. >w< [/longtips]

Yup, Index with Image>Mode>indexed, I think. Or something like that, I'm not too familiar with photoshop.

Set the interpolation to none. Though it's really messy compared to rotsprite.

About the whole neck business, maybe because it seems like he doesn't have a neck? Could be the positioning of the shoulders. Might be up a little too high? Or perhaps his head should be lowered slightly. Looking at the mini sprite and posture looks like he's leaning forward a bit. Perhaps the body should look more like it's bent forward with his head lurching forward.
:V That's my two cents anyway. I do like it.
8D The Mia sprite aide looks just great. There does seem to be a little something off with the eye with the surprised one.

She's almost completely custom. The only things I frankensteined were the talking mouths (edited from Lassie and Alita) and hands. One from Vera, and one from Meekins. They looked better than the ones I drew. XD The one in the pocket is custom.
Colors from Lassie, Klavier, Machi, LeTousse and Plum, but with a few custom shades too.
