Raising a brow at Klavier, Zeth looked thoughtful for a moment as he considered his response. Phoenix and Miles both knew of his run ins with the mafia, but Klavier and Ema have only heard rumors. He didn't want to have to confirm those rumors without good reason.
"Well, it's not uncommon for a detective to get death threats for working on top name cases..." Zeth replied slowly and thoughtfully as he glanced to the side. For MOB cases maybe... "It's more interesting though that it's happening now- I'm only on one case at the moment," Leaning forward towards Klavier with a positive look, Zeth's eyes almost sparkled, "It means that I must know alot about the Bell versus Sanchez case!" Pausing for a moment, Zeth glanced in the other direction with a smirk, "That, or I clipped some random's wing mirror. Apparently a very good looking woman is looking for me." Glancing back to Klavier, Zeth gave him an odd look. “She was at the Stadium walking around like she was meant to be there. Did someone come in when I wasn’t there?”

"Are you talking about Shelly Beech?" Phoenix asked, his mouth full of Takoyaki again. Zeth turned to Phoenix with a slightly grossed out look. Looking back at Zeth with wide eyes, Phoenix finished his mouthful and grinned, "Really though, Trucy met Shelly at the laundromat the other day and invited her to join the cast. That doesn't sound dubious to me at all."
"Trucy WHAT?" Zeth bleated, dropping his chopsticks, "No check up on who the person is or nothing... Just invites some stranger to the set? You knew my number. I could've looked her up for you!"
"Not everyone is a serial killer, Zeth," Phoenix replied, stirring his lunch around a bit, "Trucy has an excellent judge of character. She'd know if Shelly was after someone. Besides, she's surrounded by friends." Glancing back to Zeth, Phoenix smiled, “I’m not ruling Shelly out, but last time I looked, she seemed like a nice person.”
“Hrmm… Shelly Beech…” Zeth hummed thoughtfully once more, “That name is familiar…. I wonder why… Assassin… Shelly Beech… Shelly… Shelly…”

"Yeah," Phoenix nodded, "but Shelly De Killer is a Male. We're talking about a female, so it can't be him."
"Why not?" Zeth asked, picking up his chopsticks, and using his other hand to assist him in picking up his food, "Who says Shelly De Killer is a male?"
"I... I think I met him," Phoenix admitted, "I went to my client's house and... I don't know if he was in disguise or what though..." Trying to recall the man's appearance after so long, all he could remember was he was a man with stitches all over the place. NOTHING like Shelly.
"That's not what I meant," Zeth replied, before munching on somethign he thought may've been meat. "Hey, this is really good!" Zeth commented after he swallowed his food. Turning to Phoenix, Zeth gestured with his chopsticks, "Shelly De Killer is an assassin that has been in business for the last 40 years. Now, either he is a severely good assassin and can still be effective despite being past his prime, or he's passed his title on to another person." Scooping up a few more pieces inside of the soup, and politely slurping it into his mouth, Zeth caught the drips with a napkin self consciously, "I'd say it's most likely that the name and reputation lives on. If it's possibly this lady then... I guess I'll have to outsmart her..."
Zeth's eyes glittered happily at the thought of this new challenge, racing through the possibilities with situation and conversation of proving her identity. It had been a while since he had to battle with such high odds. Win or die. He welcomed the gamble. Grinning, Zeth ate some more food, "This day suddenly got better. I haven't played Duck duck Goose for a little while..."

I totally forgot that Miles would know, but I figured I'd better bring it up.))((Oh dear, I read over my last few posts as well and I'm turning into a lazy butt. Their short, non-productive; they obviously don't come even close to your responses. Sorry.
But, TBH, I feel this RP began to head south when the characters went to lunch. Ha, I'd doubt Anthony/DoMaya/Wulfy424 even check it anymore. I'll try to help keep it alive, but it's getting increasingly harder the less people we get. Three, like you said a few weeks ago, was bad enough. Now with only us two at the restaurant and you and Lida at the detention center..... man. I just don't know how long we can keep this up.))((Where should this go? I'm kinda at a loss for what should happen next with regards to Miles/Klavier. It seems mostly like a goings-on between Phoenix and Zeth; anyone else seems like they'd be interrupting.))

Glancing aside in guilt, Zeth sighed. He had to admit, the old ways paid off, and it was VERY difficult to throw a blind eye to the world and just exist. He couldn't trust. It was as simple as that. Certainly not after knowing the secrets of most of the department. He couldn't turn a blind eye to that.
"Trust, Edgeworth," Zeth started, removing his glasses for a moment as he glanced towards the prosecutor, "You found it difficult to trust Phoenix all those years ago when he was still new to Law, right? Specially in those cases you were personally involved in. Trust comes so easy to some people like Phoenix and Klavier, but when you begin to doubt those around you, it's difficult to step back and put trust in others again. I thought you of all people would understand that." Sighing as he turned back to his lunch, Zeth frowned, stirring his soup with his chopsticks, "I'm trying my best, but I need you guys to be understanding of me. Old habits are hard to break, specially when you know too much about those around you. I just want to bring those crooks to justice." Putting his glasses back on his face again though, Zeth raised his brow, "This assassin though... she is working for someone, which tell me that this crime is not just petty drug abuse. She may be a lead to something MUCH larger." Glancing towards Miles, Zeth frowned, "Isn't that much more important than my safety? I mean..." Glancing away quickly, Zeth lowered his voice to talk to himself, "It's not as if anyone would miss me."
Pausing for a moment after saying that, he stared at his soup bowel, hoping he didn't say that out loud. Dirty laundry. Why did he have so much of it? Suddenly breaking out into uneasy laughter, Zeth finger combed his hair back, snuffing his chuckle to a grin. Who knows? Maybe she's something really special and we become an item... wouldn't that be ironic?

Turning his attention back to their conversation, Miles continued. "You're talking nonsense Gant. This has nothing to do with your trusting other people." Miles looked daggers into Zeth, not wanting to lose his attention. "I can understand questioning people largely considering your...background... with them. However, your outlook on life in general has to change." He dunked his bag a few more times; the stronger the tea, the better. "You see everything as a gamble. Everything as if something is at stake. It's not, Gant. Not unless you make it that way."
Klavier, not wanting to interrupt, pointed to the Vegetable Lo Mein on the menu and showed the waitress, whom nodded. She then delivered the order to Chang, who started cooking it.
((Sorry Klavier's is so short. Since he's really not involved in the conversation he'll be an amorphous blob, making an appearance every now and then when needed. If someone talks to him, of course he'll respond, although the present topic is more geared towards Zeth, Phoenix and Miles. Not to mention he'd only just met Zeth and Miles, and he's not that chummy with Phoenix.))

"I don't know if you've ever noticed, Miles, but life IS a gamble. There are odds with everything you do in life. If you know those odds, and you know how to beat them, then you have a higher chance of success." Turning to Miles, Zeth frowned, "So what if I decide to try the odds every now and then? It's all for a bit of fun. It's not as if I'm gambling with Phoenix's life anymore. I'll never gamble with a friend's life ever again."
Bowing his head in shame, he had always hoped that Phoenix was going to turn out to be dark hearted inside the happy exterior he showed so he didn't feel so guilty throwing Phoenix's freedom on the line to free himself from the Mafia and his father. He knew that Phoenix had long forgiven him, but he felt that Miles still held a grudge against him still for his actions. It didn't surprise him knowing how much he loved Phoenix.
"I think what Miles is trying to say, Zeth," Phoenix started, tapping his bowel with his chop sticks. He was just about finished, "is that there are people around you that care about you, and would help you lower the odds of life, if only you'd let them. You don't HAVE to take such high chances anymore." Turning to Zeth with a kind smile, Phoenix had a piece of seaweed beside his mouth as he smiled, "this person that's after you, let us help you deal with her. That's the difference between you taking a chance, and you standing a chance."
Tapping his forehead thoughtfully, Zeth raised a brow dazedly, "So... What would you do if I DID ask for help then? I don't want the Police involved, or we'll lose our informant. I'd want a small team so word didn't get out that the underground has leaks."
((Go on Miles :) What's the plan of attack? If he still cares. Zeth can't avoid this assassin, and if they strike now, they'll have the upper hand on her. Also, Phoenix has a piece of seaweed on his mouth- does Miles want to remove it for him? Or point it out? ;) ))

The doctor flashed his eyes at Apollo. Feeling slightly nervous finally, the doctor adopted a confident stance trying to make himself look powerful, "Well yes, typically, we can't give the patient the full dose of my wonder drug straight off or it may shock the system, right? These withdrawals... They're like a baby crying when it needs more food. It's our signal that they need more antidote."
"Aaaahhhh.." David Bell suddenly sighed with a pleasant grin, "Now that feels... Glancing up at the doctor, David's eyes widened, "LIES! It's all LIES! He's trying to kill me!! Get me out of here!" Thrashing about in his chair as the burly men held him down, the doctor gave him a second injection, which made David go limp.
"I'm afraid that this concludes your interview for now Mr Justice," Narrowing his eyes, at Apollo, trying not to give away more, the doctor crossed his arms as David Bell was carted off. "Sometime the drug has... undesirable effects in the immediate future. Patients can become Irate, and blame their doctor for incompetence. He'll be calmed down after some time in his holding cell alone and away from me." Apollo's bracelet vibrated at 'undesirable effects'

*OK- I've opened Klavier and Miles back up to the public with the condition that Miles is coupled with Phoenix and Klavier is coupled with Ema. Hopefully we find a fan of that pairing to take the places soon ^^

Right, to clear some thiings. I have read it all, but i'm confused somewhat. Is Shelly's employer and their reason decided? Also, is the reason you want her at the precinct to attempt her assassination on Zeth?

((OK- the deal here guys, I just want to finish off this lunch scene so I wonder if I just ditch Miles as a character all together, and ship everyone back to the stadium. If we can find a new Klavier, then I'm quite happy to kick things forward. Miles wasn't a necessary character. Lida, lets just ditch the Bell versus Sanchez case if it's too confusing. It's not worth doing if it's getting too difficult. I just want everyone to start RPing again. So... Does the people at the stadium was to wind themselves back into costume? Maybe decide what their next scene is? We need a new director!!))

CUE- Faaaaaast forward in time to after lunch!! :D
((For simplicity sakes :) ))
Dropping Phoenix back off at the stadium, Miles grabbed Phoenix's sweatshirt to stop him leaving the car quickly, before planting a firm kiss on Phoenix's lips.
"Enjoy your lunch, Wright?" He asked, his lips hovering a centermeter away from Phoenix's lips, "I told you that you were dressed fine for the occasion." Phoenix chuckled at Miles attempt at humour, cradling his face in his hands as he gave Miles a more gentle kiss in return,
"You sure did," Phoenix replied in between kisses, "You're the only accessory I'll ever need."
"This time," Miles replied, slipping Phoenix's beanie off with one finger, "I somehow think that there is only a certain amount one can do when accessorising a beanie such as this one."
"Bah, you know you love it," Phoenix grinned, giving Miles one last, but long kiss, "Maybe I'll let you remove it tonight though."
"I like that thought," Miles admitted, letting Phoenix pul away finally, "You know I'll hold you to that word."
"I'm sure you will," Phoenix grinned, slipping out of the car and waving to Miles as he drove off. Glancing back to the stadium, Phoenix grinned, "Time to get back to buisness. I wonder if Trucy has torn the stadium down yet?"

Zeth casually strolled down the stairs, donning an ominous dark grey bomber jacket to hide his gun, trying to think of how he'd approach the situation. Shelly must've been good to get out of Bebop's grasp, so she'd be highly trained in killing also. Would she shoot first, or seduce later? Or maybe she wanted him alive? Or what if... suddenly Zeth's eyes relaxed, as he wondered what Bebop meant when he said that she was gorgeous. He knew his tastes. Bebop tapped anything with an hourglass figure, even if they had a manly face. But, what if she really was a something? Someone special? Someone that understood him...
"I'm softening up," Zeth growled to himself verbally, "Seven years ago, you'd have your hand on the trigger ready to kil the woman. What's wrong with you, Gant? Are you really that desperate?!"

Ema strode into the set and straight to the dressing rooms to change. Why did I choose to do this again? I'm not even being paid.... She sighed and unhooked her costume from its pole, slipping into the outfit with only slight difficulty. Note to self - stop chowing on Snackoos, she thought, popping a snackoo into her mouth.

Sitting on a table, Shelly swung her long legs up so that they rested on top of the table as she thought. When i've finished this job, i'll have to further look into that blonde man. She licked her lips absently, a smirk curling her delicate features. But after the job, Shelly reminded herself. Right now...I have to concentrate. She ran her fingers along the knife and the gun in her bag thoughtfully. Where is he?

Slipping his hand into his jacket. Zeth grabbed his gun, ready to withdraw when necessary. Glancing around the corner to the hall where he fell over Miles earlier that day, Zeth kept his ears keen for any sounds. It was unusually quiet that day for some reason. Finally feeling secure with the hallway being bare, Zeth glanced around for security cameras. Spotting where they were, zeth pulled out his gun, making sure that the camera couldn't see it and scooting around, pausing at the door.
The door is shut to alert her when I come in. She would've closed the spare door also... Grinning, he knew that there was a table just to his left he could scoot under once he got in, but the door needed to register his swipe card first. That's fine, is she opens the door while it registers, I'll be ready, Couching to the ground, he knew she wouldn't know he expected her, and would look at eye level first. Another advantage for him. Swiping his card, and pushing the door slightly ajar for a minute, Zeth waited to see if she'd investigate, or let him come to her.

Hearing the sound of a card being swiped in the security lock, Shelly turned to see the door creak open to be slightly ajar. She waited a moment with her most charming smile on before that smile slipped into a smirk. Clever. He's waiting to see my course of action first. Picking up a folder from the nearest table, Shelly leafed through it casually, swinging her legs back over the side of the table silently and crossing her legs.
Well, this one is certainly smarter than most deaders. Shelly never referred to people as mere 'targets' because that implied that she could fail to kill them. To call them deaders was to say to herself and others that as soon as the contract was taken, the person was dead already.

That better not be one of the case files I'M working on, Zeth thought bitterly, If any of those files are out of order, then this chick is SO totally dead. Picturing the layout of the room in his head, Zeth considered his plan of attack once more. What have I got on me... a gun and silencer, my glasses, my clothes, my wallet, my keys, cigarettes, lighter, chemicals in the lab... and she must know where I am by now... judging from the sound, she's close to the door and to the left, so she'll see me as soon as I enter the room... Checking his gun's magazine, Zeth counted the number of bullets he had. Only six. I should've reloaded it last night after that dolt Anthony shot at our car. Little brat. If I die today it's all his fault. Smirking to himself ironically, Zeth grinned. Time for the fun. Lets see how good my aim is today...
Booting the door open with both of his feet, Zeth fired his gun at the fluorescents on the front left of the forensics room, using the panic of the shattering fluro to surprise his killer before deciding what his next move was. Zeth rolled to his feet and ran down the aisle, ready to do a dive roll for cover as soon as he spotted her. Then, he hesitated his move slightly as he spotted Shelly sitting at his desk reading through his notes with glass cascading down around her. Slowing his dash to a jog to get a better look at her, his world felt like it slowed down to a halt before he finally remembered that she was there to kill him. But she does have great legs... Zeth wowed, not realising that his run had diverted too much to the side, and he ran into another desk collapsing clumsily over some paperwork. Dropping his gun to the ground, Zeth's eyes widened to saucers and he fumbled to the floor to grab it once more.
((You gonna let him grab the gun? I think at this point, it'd be safe to say that Shelly would've gotten over the light shattering over her, and be on her way to get Zeth. Please don't kill him outright! XD Maybe she'll kick it out of the way
))

Only reacting to Zeth's sudden entry and shooting with a mild twitch that she was sure Zeth couldn't have caught, Shelly slipped one shoe off and hooked the gun with her toe, flipping it up into the air and catching it with her left hand, all while studying her deader. She noticed him staring at her legs and raised her eyebrows teasingly, a smile playing at her lips. She spun the gun around her finger once before grabbing it in a ready position.
The photo she'd been given to recognise him was...well, not enough, to say the least. But that streak of white hair and those silly little glasses were good indicators. The fact that he'd come bursting through the door with a gun helped, too.
Shelly replaced her shoe onto her foot and smiled. "Zeth Gant?" She stood and placed herself with her back to the door, her handbag swinging from one elbow, her other hand holding Zeth's gun. The manouver with the gun was showing off if anything, and she was curious to see how this detective would react to her, other than shooting inanimate objects.
