As I am probably cosplaying Maya, where would I be able to find Maya's hair beads? Or what way can I make them? Any suggestions would be helpful. ^^

If you want them really shiny, you could also take off the hanger parts on christmas tree ornaments! You may have to stuff the inside with batting or something when you add it to the hair, though, to make it a bit less delicate.

Have you done this before? How did you make them stay, if you did? I've only ever seriously thought styrofoam balls would do the trick. Same thing for Jahyuu, too; did you cut holes in the top and bottom?

Good luck, by the way, SharpCookies. ^^

eh... i've put wooden beads in my hair before. I make them stay by putting a stopper thingamajig in my hair. If you're looking for someting the size of maya's beads... styrofoam is better than my idea.

So I'm a tad late in replying, but hey, it may be useful for future cosplayers.

I recommend NOT using wooden balls as those can get heavy. I've done two different methods of hair beads. One was using ping pong balls. They're smooth to begin with so that was a plus, but it was a little difficult to thread them and get them to stay put.

The other method was using styrofoam balls as suggested earlier. But styrofoam has a rather noticeable texture so I covered them in Model Magic and sanded them, although any light air-dry clay will work. To keep the styrofoam balls up, since they were only hollowed out through the center, I just jammed something up in the hole which you can't do with ping ping balls because they're hollow throughout.

You can find ping pong and styrofoam balls in both large and small sizes so you can use them for both the front dangly beads or the top and back beads. For the top bead though, you will have to trim it down so it's less of a spherical shape.

I made the white necklace beads using the same method so the necklace was only heavy on the magatama.
