I think I'm turning Japanese
I really think so~~

GUYS, DON'T TAKE THE TOPIC TITLE LITERALLY, IT'S A SONG SHEESH.

No no, this isn't about people abusing Japanese words like "kawaii" but I do admit I call 'super-deformed' "shota" now. This is a rather general topic that can span farther than animanga. It could be any kind of media, really.

Has being involved in this series / knowing this fictional character changed your everyday speech/mindset?

1.) Ever since I've gotten to know Ling from FMA, I've had this habit to add the suffix '-neh?' after some statements.
2.) For China from Hetalia, I now say "Aiyaaa~" when frustrated, and rarely I unintentionally go "-aru" (but mostly just goes "-ru"). I am serious. It switches around with "-neh".
3.) Then of course Hetalia in general makes History easier to memorize. I was already interested in it before, so not as much a difference as some people who say they find History interesting now. It was always interesting to me. Just that now it's easier to doodle "personified countries". :gant:
4.) No idea why, but for some reason I can't drink milk anymore without throwing up. Started around three weeks ago. Turning into Edward Elric from FMA?
5.) When I disagree, sometimes you go "OBJECTION!" (You all know where this rooted from.) Though this isn't major for me yet, I still prefer to go "WHAT--NO."

Godot's theme song gave me a tea addiction. No, not coffee, TEA. Uh, does that count? I do object to people, and I occasionally find 'contradictions' in their 'testimony'. No joke.

And sometimes, I try to close my eyes when I smile. It never works. Damn you, anime!

....

I don't like making big posts... I think small text makes a post look at least a bit neater.

Don't worry, I don't say them every sentence/phrase... I rarely talk in real life anyway. </loner angst.> And ouch, being punished for something unintentional? I better practice speaking like a normal person again.

I only did that kind of thing when I was 10-12, I'm glad I grew out of it now. :redd:

Especially since the kind of characters I liked/acted like were fucking PSYCHOS.

I do watch a lot of anime, but I've never started using terms from it. >_> My cousin is a total weeaboo and does that stuff all the time, which has inspired me not to be as annoying as her.

Because of the topic title, I thought this topic was about people masturbating. Thanks for ruining my excitement.

That said, you are a fucking wapanese joke and this topic is just pathetic. Mixing Japanese and English is like mixing German and English. They are both fine languages, just not meant to all be said in the same sentence.

When I talk to French people, I speak fucking French
When I speak to English people, I speak English.

I don't mix words together, or else I sound retarded.

doesn't have anything to do with being japanese.

How rude. Influence exists in whatever you do or watch, you know. I also mix my own native language with English, and don't you dare insult it. I only wanted a song's title for the topic, sue me. :lana: I doubt any of my cases are even extreme, but I suppose you people have really really low standards for a "weeaboo".

i'm just saying this isn't real japanese culture, just people getting obsessed with the pop culture. i'll agree, your case doesn't seem very extreme, but generally i don't like weaboos, they really shouldn't try to be something they're not.

Well, it leans on the subconscious. If I'm becoming more of any culture in the sense you speak, it's Chinese and not just because my favorite character in Hetalia is China. I'm half Chinese and trying to learn Mandarin, next summer I'm considering one of their martial arts, and I read just about any book of Chinese culture at my home.

I apologize if the topic title was racist or insulting, it was not my intention at all. But hey, it did catch attention, so half-victory (does that even exist!)?

@Holy Hell:
Can't you even bother just editing your post instead of doubling? :|
Okay fine, how about a case where someone considered taking Law as a course because of AA? My sister's friend had that, but decided to stick to Culinary Arts.

I sometimes speak Japanese accidently when speaking to people, since I know the language. And I sometimes speak Japanese around the house. I really love Japanese food and culture. But I guess I'm not turning Japanese since I am part Japanese, to be exact about half Asian (by that I'm also Chinese and Malay) so I wouldn't be a weaboo or anything since I am Japanese, right?

Hey, if you start spouting Japanese, it's not subconscious fool. It's because you've learnt some Japanese and you choose to use it to gain attention.
You're not turning Japanese, you're turning annoying and pathetic.

As for having low standards of a Weeaboo, there aren't levels. You want to be Japanese, you're a weeaboo, that's it.

... You're taking the song's title way too seriously man. That's like believing someone who said they'd die without their morning coffee. :sadshoe: Who said I wanted to be Japanese anyway? Accidentally calling little people "chibis" or "shota"--I blame fandom. And I'm planning to change just because believe it or not I too am pissed off at people spouting Japanese randomly.

Also this topic I had clearly said was about being influenced by fictional characters.
Guess no one reads anymore, I would've suspected people at "Court Records" to be more perceptive and careful.

Haha, I was Japanese to begin with!

Well...not really...but I developed a sense of identification with them from an early age on (even after learning about the Second Sino-Jap war.). Now, I'm all hype. I even prefer to use the Japanese PW names over the English ones despite my residence in the rural southern United States.

Although I can't read Kanji, I can speak it nearly flawlessly.

Nah. I suck at reading. I can probably read...50(?) characters total? I mean...I did write:

Me, myself, and I wrote:
Although I can't read Kanji,

I mean speak. Although...Kanji might not be the right way of saying it.

Mandarin is what I mean. (Kanji is basically simplified mandarin characters)

No. His description of milk as "An opaque white liquid secreted from a cow" is pretty offsetting, you know.
