New trailer out:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v_FfHA5whXc

It's been nearly eleven years since the last movie, and I'm still psyched to see this, even if I'll be 20 by then. It looks like they're doing everything right. They even brougt back the original voice cast as well.

Now this is the Pixar film I'm actually hyped up for! Although judging from the latest trailer, the plot seems slightly similar to Toy Story 2. Oh well, TS is still AWESOME!! :phoenix:

I'm so looking forward to this! I don't remember when Toy Story 2 first came out but it seems like forever ago that it did. I'm glad Pixar is coming back to this series.

Toy Story 3D sounds like the shizz.
I am the shizz.
We will make sweet sweet luuurv, and make some more shizz.

(Reminds me of Mitchell and Webb's Numberwang Robot: The world is numberwang, I am numberwang, Therefore I am the world!)
(Can't we play cucumberwang? - No Timmy, because that would be shit.)

Anyway, 3D Woody has to be good right?

I don't know what to say until I hear what the story's gonna be about. :gregory:

Although I did like the first two Toy Storys so this would be a nice bit of nostalgia......

3D is dumb and so far hasn't added anything to any movie. That said, I'm looking forward to this like I'm looking forward to any Pixar.

If you've ever been to Futuroscope, Poitiers, France you'll know this isn't quite true. Sure in most mainstream films it is a gimmick, but when done right as Futuroscope does, it's extraordinary, mindboggling, brilliant.

I think Pixar are the right people to bring 3D into its own. They made CGI a credible form of animation despite initial disgust from Disney (Anyone ever seen the feature on Disc 2 of Wall-E? It's really insightful!) I am sure they can do this right too. I trust you Pixar, don't let me down. Just make it better than Spy Kids 3D, that's all I ask!

This is why I like our local theatres. They don't play 3-D and that made UP for me much more enjoyable because of that. Personally, I could do without 3-D. It's just a gimmick that only works if you got perfect eyesight and I hate wearing those stupid glasses.

Yes, I have been there. And no, that's nothing like normal cinema movies, and they are not comparable.

I got 20/20 vision myself, but I still hate wearing those stupid things. Rag on me all you want, but I'm staying by my case that 3-D is stupid. If I want to go and enjoy my movie, I'd rather watch it without the unneeded gimmicks. Besides, 3-D doesn't even cater to poor people who can only see out of one eye.

I wonder if this will explore concepts of mortality as related to the toys.

I mean the ramifications of their resetting Buzz Lightyear alone are interesting! Is it like killing him? Obviously they throw the Spanish speaking thing in there to be funny, but what will this actually have done to everything Buzz has learned and experienced? I liked how the last movie looked at the reformed Buzz Lightyear interacting with another one still under his factory indoctrination.

Really, Buzz and his struggle with what it means to be a toy is one of the main themes across both previous films and it looks like it's going to continue here.

Will the story feature Woody anyway? I love him more compared to Buzz.

Slow connection here, can't watch videos so I only can read reviews of the movie.

Yes, Woody is in the movie.

American movies will reach our shores much later anyway, looking forward to watch it in theatres than YouTube or DVD.

BTW does anyone buy collectibles from the previous Toy Story movies & will buy the ones from Toy Story 3?

My point was that Pixar can be the ones to revolutionise 3D cinema, like the did with animated movies. As in, they could make it not a gimmick as it currently is, and MORE like the quality of Futuroscope. Even better maybe.

I even thought that some IMAX productions in 3D were quite good. There was one about the Space Station I saw a few years back which was done really tastefully and the scale of it made it astonishing.

My favourite Toy Story Characters are Woody, Buzz and Rex. Rex is hillarious. I hope he's as good this time...

NO. This should not be happening. Toy Story was great and original. Toy Story 2 was not as great but still good and not that original, but I let it slide because they were still making great movies. Toy Story 3 is going to ruin the series and maybe even Pixar Studios. If you haven't noticed by now, sequels only work if they didn't resolve all the problems or if the only question you have after the movie is "What happens after that?" I know there's exceptions, don't yell and complain and tell me what they are.

But Toy Story 2 was a brilliant movie and one of the only sequels in the film industry (together with, maybe, Godfather 2) that were actually on par with the original. You don't need unanswered questions. Unanswered questions in one movie is a dumb way of making a sequel easily marketable. Instead, they opt for going a few years into the future and create automatic new problems.

Agreed on that point. I'm actually curious what's going to happen in this movie based on the theme. In the first movie, the toys were afraid they were going to be replaced, but in the end Andy played with all the toys and didn't throw any away. In the second movie, they were afraid they were going to be thrown away as the kids get older, but this was postponed because Andy has a baby sister. Now in the third movie Andy is finally in college and too old to keep his toys (not sure what happened to the little sister thing), so now we're left with the question "Now what?" What future can the toys look forward to now even if they do bust out of that daycare centre? I for one would like to know how this ends.

Granted, the whole "now what?" thing seems pretty interesting, but let's be honest, most sequels are pathetic (Toy Story 2 is an exception.) In my opinion the story is best left without any further input. If Disney has any input into this, it will be as terrible as The Little Mermaid 2, Pocahontas 2 and all those other second raters. If it doesn't have the original cast (which I heavily doubt) it will probably be dreadful. Filmakers: STOP MAKING SEQUELS TO GOOD MOVIES! PLEASE!

The original cast has already been confirmed to be reprising their roles for this one. As for Disney's level of involvement, I am ver positive that Pixar will make this right. Proof of this is that Toy Story 3 was originally going to be done just by Disney, with the story being all Buzz Lightyears being called back into Taiwan. Pixar, the gallant sexy heroes they are, jumped in and saved the day with their involvement, making the story what it is today. If Disney is about to screw over, you can count on Pixar to set it right.
