Alright, so I'm thinking about making an RPG based off this awesome series. I've only been thinking this for a few days, so my (small amount of) ideas aren't great. But here's what I've got so far, and sorry it's been so long since the last update:

Story:

(Last Edited April 4th, 6:51 PM Central Time)

It's the year 2028 (a year or so after Apollo Justice). Phoenix Wright has come back to the world of law, and his first case is a complex one. A string of murders and someone who seems desperate to get their hands on the Mason System. One night in his office studying the case, Phoenix gets a call:

"Hello, is this Mr. Wright, the attorney?"
"Yes it is. What can I do for you?"
"Well...do you remember the Mason System from the case Apollo handled that got your name cleared?"
"Yes I do. What about it"?
"It's completely unstable. Something seems to have damaged it. Can we ask you to come and help us with this problem? After all, you are the creator."
"Er...yeah, sure, I'll be right there."

By the time Phoenix had arrived, the situation had gotten much worse. The Mason System had started sucking things up, spitting them out into random intervals of time. As Phoenix saw this, he started to edge back towards the door for backup. But a pair of hands pushed him forward into the System. Everything went black.

The one who pushed Phoenix in laughed to himself. It was time for the destruction of this pitiful planet to begin. But first, he must
wait for the machine to suck the man's friends in...and then, his master shall rule over all.

Phoenix wakes up in a strange land.

Huh? Where am I? ...Dang, I can't remember anything. What happened? Did I trip on something or was I pushed into that thing?
Well, no sense sitting here...might as well walk around and see what I can find...


At this point, you take control of Phoenix. After taking the dirt path out, someone jumps out at Phoenix. He's out cold before he manages to see the attacker....

Battle:

*Turn-based fighting

*Each charater has basic attack(s) and some character-specific Special Attacks. Also, some characters can use magic, which is pretty much just your average generic stuff (fire, water, blah blah blah).

*Fallen party members cannot be revived through a simple healing item, only at certain places (think Shining Force).

Level (he is when you first get him): 1
Class: Paladin
Stats: (this isn't the way the game measures stats, it's just a baseline so you understand what to expect in general)
Health--Medium
Strength--Medium
Speed--Medium
Accuracy--Medium-High
Magic--Medium-High

Weapons:
Can use every type, but not the higher levels in any type.

Basic Attacks:
"Objection!"--Deals a moderate amount of damage, and is pretty accurate.
"Hold It!"--Deals a small amount of damage, but always hits.
Take That!"--Deals a heavy amount of damage, but pretty unaccurate.
Weapon--Uses whatever weapon is equipped (if none, attacks with punch).

Special Attacks:
Magatama Level 1--Phoenix uses the Magatama to open a single enemy's heart, lowering it's defense. Available from start. Uses 2PP.

Press--Does moderate damage to all ground enemies. Avialable at Level 3. Uses 3PP. Powers up more as you level.

Magatama Level 2--Phoenix uses the Magatama to closes his heart more, bringing his defense up. Avialable at Level 5. Uses 2PP.

Present--Throws a random piece of evidence from a pool of items (not every piece, just some of the more major ones). Can do anything from 0 damage to OHKO. Sometimes causes status changes. Available at level 7. Uses 5PP.

Magatama Level 3--Phoenix uses the Magatama to open the door to all of the enemies' hearts, lowering their defenses. Available at level 11. Uses 4 PP.

Magatama Level 4--Phoenix uses the Magatama to close the door to all his teammates hearts, raising their defenses. Availabe at level 14. Uses 5PP.

Press Level 2--Deals moderate damage to all enemies. Available at level 18. Uses 6PP.

Contradiction--A worm hole opens, sucking any single enemy into it, killing them instantly. However, you get 0 exp., and it doesn't work against all foes. Available at level 20. Uses 9PP.

Magatama Level 5--Phoenix uses the Magatama to close the door to his teammates hearts, and to open his enemies hearts. Raises your teams defense and lowers that of the enemies. Available at level 23. Uses 8PP.

Paladin:
Can use every type of weapon, but nothing higher than Medium ones.
Best stat: Balanced
Example of character: Phoenix Wright
Info: The basic type of character. Not super strong but not weak either, these guys are good to have in your team.

Warrior:
Can only use sword type weapons (swords, doubleblades, daggers, etc.). Can use the best of the weapons, provided that they're a high enough level.
Best stat: Power
Example of character: Miles Edgeworth
Info: Made for battling, these characters can really pack a punch. Their also fast too, but they're not super great at withstanding attacks.

Mage:
Can use staffs and rods up the highest level, and ranged weapons up to the Low-Medium level.
Best stat: Magic
Example of character: Maya Fey
Info: For those who like to use magic, this is the type of character for you. They are the best at magical attacks, but they have low health and defense.


Tank:
Can't use weapons. (Probably gonna change)
Best stat: Health/Defense
Example of character: Dick Gumshoe
Info: The big guy who you generally kill off to protect other characters in your team. Can roll with a punch, and can give a good one too.
But they're slower than my little brother's brain.


Gunman:
Can use all ranged weapons, but that's it.
Best stat: Accuracy
Example of character: Wendy Oldbag (based upono her weilding that awesome toy gun)
Info: These people can hit pretty much all enemies, high or low. They can't take too much damage, but they're fairly power and land alot of hits.

Weapon types:

Sword--Can strike any ground enemy. Can also have different elements (fire, ice, electricty) imbued into it for possible status changes on the enemy.

Long Sword--Hits any ground enemy and low flying air ones. Can have different elements imbued into it.

Crossbow--Hits any enemy. Can fire different types of bullets (armor pericing, elemental, etc.) for different effects.

Handgun--Hits any enemy. Can only fire basic bullets. You can equip two of these at once, or in conjunction with a knife.

Knife--Lower range weapon, only hitting the closest ground enemy. Can be imbued with some elements. You can equip two of these at once, or in conjunction with a handgun.

I quite like this idea, but my question is what will you use to make this game? And you should probably have different classes that relate to the character, like Phoenix could be a paladin since he is a defender of justice, etc.

Well, probably Flash. It's probably not the best thing out there, but it's what I know. As for the classes, yeah, I guess that would work. But I kind of like the idea of complete indivuality (I know it's spelt wrong) between the characters. I guess we'll see how this turns out. But thanks for the feedback!

I love most RPG's and support this.

Though I think if they only have so few special attacks or normal attacks it may get dull, especially if it's just Turn Based stuff.

Wow, that was pretty danged fast. I know how to code, but I'm not exactly sure how to start this, so off to Google it is. Pierre, you've got a point there. Actually, since almost none of the original cast has been seen in the AJ future, I guess I have alot of room to mess around with them, as long as I don't go overboard. I'll think about it and get back to you. Thanks, both of you!

Hmmm, well, I do have a bit of an idea for Edgeworth. Since he can use Logic, why not make it so that he can view enemy stats, health etc, but to limit that ability, you'll have to level it up. Ex: The first level only lets him see the health of the enemy, but not the other things, like weaknesses, stats. Then the next level would let him view both the stats and the health of the enemy, and the final level could be everything.

Hm, that's a good idea, but then what could Feenie do with the Magatama? Maybe he could use the Magatama to lower the enemy stats or something...or he could just, you know, chuck it at them. I like the idea of leveling up the special attacks, I can't believe I never even thought about that! :udgy: Alright, I'm gonna go mess around with Flash, thanks for the input!

Magatama.....

Seeing as Phoenix is travelling time and all make him a time mage. Can use the chains and locks to slow or stop opponents or even break the locks to cast haste on allies.

Also since your going into the past you'll probably be able to tinker with some things in the canon by screwing over time so you've got plenty of freedom.

Eh, I was thinking of Phoenix being a paladin, defender of justice and all that. Maya should be a time mage or a summoner, since she can use the magatama, and channel spirits.

Maybe more like FF6's Gau.

Gau was sort of a Blue mage, he could channel the bestial natures of monsters you had fought to adopt their abilities and traits.
She could summon the spirit of a defeated enemy to gain the same effects.

And Edgeworth would make a good knight right? Seeing as his representative chess piece is a knight...with sharp edges.

Alright, you two both seem to like the idea of character types (mage, knight, etc.) so I guess I should probably do that...I can see Edgey weilding a sword and being a complete natural at the thing. That opens up a wide range of attacks by itself. And then there's Franzy with her whip...this might not be as hard as it first seemed. I'm messing around with character movement right now. Got a crappy little overhead view of a stick guy that I'm trying to animate.

Pierre, that's true, but I wanna make this as awesome as possible, so I'm certainly willing to hear anybodys opinion on it.

Sure, Dawn, thanks. I'm gonna need to scan the Actionscript.org boards and find another AA fan who can do graphical design. That's about the only thing I absolutly cannot do...

Alrighty, well, I'm gonna take a break, because my head's killing me. If anyone has something to contribute to this (hopefully good in the end) idea of a Phoenix Wright RPG, feel free to say so. Like I said earlier, I'm listening to comments, mostly because this is my first big project and partly cause this is (hopefully) gonna rock in the end.

Erm I like the sound of an RPG an all but...

What exactly WOULD they fight? The major villains and prosecutors probably make up some enemies but we need some real goons here.
Also why would they fight? Phoenix's battles are from behind a desk not in their face.

Alright, I guess I need to explain this. As you probably read in the story intro thing I wrote, Feenie gets pushed into the malfunctioning Mason System and ends up in a sort of alternate world type thing (haven't thought of a good name). Anyway, in this other world, reality is completly twisted, and Phoenix is forced to fight the darkness that's quickly seeping over this land. Along the way, he finds some of the cast from the series (who also found themselves transported by the Mason System) as well as their evil alternates (and before you heave a huge sigh, no, I'm not doing that "Main Characters Alternate is the Bad Guy" thing). Of course, there's many new characters to boot, but once again, don't worry. The game's not all about them. Now, as to WHY he fights: it's pretty simple. In this world, Nick--and his friends--possess the abililty to go into combat with the evil, inhuman forces. And also, expect some villians from the series to appear as well--although their roles might be slightly different than what they used to be...

Alright, I've had some new ideas (and suggestions, thanks to Dawn and Pierre), so here's what I have new. The story I haven't really changed. But the moveset for Phoenix, and other things... (and to the mods, sorry. I'm so used to gameFAQs not letting you edit that I forgot you could here.)

that would be a great game,i am not good at that type of stuff,but i guess i could give you ideas.

Burger throw--throw's burger at enemies..........what....if a scream can do damage,then so can a burger throw :yogi:
Weapon--can use only mage specific weapons (if none, attacks with punch).

Special Attacks:

all of magatma specials mentioned to wright,but in greater effect than him

Spirit Chaneling--may spirit channel a charectar that has fallen in battle,or a charectar that is cannonly dead(mia,diego...etc)

spirit unchaneling(i don't remember the exact name but it was mentioned by morgan fey in case 2-2)-- the abilaty to remove the spirit from a spirit channeler of either the allied or opposing team(to remove the opposing team's channeled spirit for being a threat,or incase one of their own channelers channeled a spirit that tries to backstab them),learned on level 3

magatma recharge--recharges the magatma(in this case,the magic points of herself,phoenix wright,miles edgeworth and pearl fey)

kurian master powerup--using the kurian master tailsman,maya equips it during battle and increases her stats for a few turns,can only be used once during each battle and need's level 5

magatma/taisman special ray blast--grabbing the tailsman in one hand and the magatma in the other and then combining them both,i ray beam emits from them and hit's the opponent for great damage--need's level 7
