Holy Jesus I love Level-5 so much. This game comes out in Japan in July and is prayed to not get a 2 year localization time like the last game. Some of the new features include:

-Faster Queue Time for Attacks
-Buffs Cancel Debuffs and Vice Versa
-Whole new weapon skill system and rebalanced combat
-AVATAR GETS A KNIGHT HOLY SHIT I KNOW IT'S AWESOME YOU GET TO CUSTOMIZE IT AND EVERYTHING
-An extremely large set of new monsters with plenty of giant monsters
-Now up to 6 people for questing
-NEW QUESTS
-and moar...

I personally am already getting excited for this game, I haven't anticipated something this much since... well... AAI or Assassin's Creed 2

It probably will. The first game got average reviews (7s and 8s out of 10, 3 stars out of 5) but was a huge hit with the RPG community especially for being the first Online RPG for the PS3. I do believe there are other Online RPGs for the Xbox and might not sell as well for that system, and the Wii is right out.

Also, it seems Level-5 has announced that to play WKC2, you will have to have completed the main storyline of the first game. In lou of this, the full first game is also being put on the WKC2 disc (oh blu-ray, you all encompassing god of formats), updated with the new engine of WKC2, meaning better graphics and maybe the rebalanced combat system?

I have no problem with the Wii personally (I own one) but it's reputation makes it harder to imagine something like this game come to it. Also, Level-5 isn't known for cross platforming.

P.S. Due to the success of the last game on these shores, I hope they plan to localize it (and a lot faster at that), maybe we'll get an announcement at E3?

What I want is Level 5 to go back and make another Dark cloud or Rouge Galaxy.

But WKC II is good too.

I was hoping that their unrelated to WKC "secret announcement" that they are going to make at E3 was going to be DC3, but it seems like it's going to be Time Travelers.

Failure double post.

Anyway, some new info:

-WKC1 will be included on the WKC2 disc (isn't Blu-Ray wonderful) in full, including the 130 quests that have been released over the past two years. Players can choose to import a save from the original WKC or start from the beginning. The WKC included on the disc will have the updated graphics and redone combat mechanics of the sequel.

-The story of this game is receiving almost primary focus in the sequel to bring it to the standards of most RPGs and not to be as short as the first game. According to Level-5, the main story of the sequel has clocked in at around 50 hours. On top of the encouragement to replay the main story of the first gamewith the new features, the story is amassing up to around 75 hours.

-AC has been mostly taken out from combat, it's major use now for combos and transforming, and most attacks require MP instead of AC. As a result, AC cannot be gained by defeating monsters.

-When doing any quest offline, you can pick two story characters to accompany you, thus making harder quests (that needed at least four people to beat) now doable by those without an Online connection.

-An increased level cap from fifty. Screenshots and Videos are showing that the cap is at the very least Level 63.

-Extra dungeon for loading a clear data, this is rumored to be a challenging dungeon that changes layout and monster (like DC2).

-The customizable Knight is known as the Arc Knight. Screenshots have hinted that some of the customizations will require unlocking. Level-5 explains that, initially, you'll have access to just four colors for your Arc Knight. These are apparently all variations of green. To unlock other colors, you'll need to get appropriate items by collecting materials as you clear quests. Outside of just color, you'll also be able to strengthen your Arc Knight with parts that you've gathered. Arc Knight customization makes use of elements called "Core Unit" and "Jewel Points." You customize your Arc Knight by attaching gems that give the knight's equipment such upgrades as "HP+5" and "attack strength up." The Core Unit's level and Jewel Points relate to how many of these gems you can attach. To increase your available Jewel Points, you'll need to strengthen your Arc Knight's Core Unit.

-Finally, Level-5 has stated that players can expect a similar pace of download quests for the sequel -- two a month.

I'm getting really pumped for this release.

--UPDATE--

Not yet released in Japan but preliminary reviews from Famitsu give the game a 33/40 (8.25), compared to the original games score of 29/40 (7.25), and the fact that it was called a dramatic improvement over it's predecessor, things are looking good for WKC2, now lets keep our fingers crossed for a winter 2010 release.

I really couldn't stand the first game. I tried to like it but just couldn't. Hopefully if this game releases here I will give it another shot and with the many many upgrades, hopefully will love it.
