Julia had instinctively clutched her stomach at the many mentions of her being eviscerated.
"Um... well, maybe I should tell you how I saw things from my perspective, then! It may not be very reliable as was previously mentioned but..." She closed her eyes and cleared her throat.
"It was quite late and I was having trouble sleeping so I decided to go organise the bottles in the cellar... then I heard the floor creak behind me b-but when I turned around there was nobody! When I turned back to the shelves I saw the Gideon apparition everyone else saw and, well... Oh my, I don't think this is very helpful..."

"It's really nothing all that complicated. When he first went missing, I really had no idea where he was. I found him in the study just like everyone else, and saw that he'd had a heart attack. I feared the worst, but as I examined him, he winked. He wanted me to play along, I assume, and tell you all that he was dead, so I did," Verrier explained.
"Of course, he had still suffered a heart attack. He would have died if I didn't get a chance to treat him. Some time later, a little after the first murders, I checked up on him. I found tape on the door, which meant that I couldn't get inside to treat him without making it clear to Ingrid that he was actually alive. I thought it might be worth the risk, but master Albrecht was very insistent about wanting to maintain the illusion that he'd died... We could talk through the door at least, with no-one listening in. I realised the only option would be to get him out of the room and somewhere safe. That's when I came up with the plan to use some fishing twine for the window lock, and some mattresses to cushion his fall as he escaped out of the window.

As you can probably tell from the name, it's hereditary in this family. Gideon was always paranoid, it was a simple matter to feed into his paranoia and convince him he had the disease. I didn't even need to tell him he had it: it was enough to be truthful and explain his version was asymptomatic. He would self-destruct by himself, coming up with elaborate conspiracies that better fit the 'story' he viewed the world by, rather than believing I would ever tell him the full truth.

Without him I'd have soon been kicked out of the orphanage, left to do... I'm not sure, petty crime I imagine. I did always have a knack for conning people.

Heinrich was clearly lying and being very uncharacteristically spiteful towards him. However, this was perhaps unsurprising after what Gideon had just done.

Surprisingly, Gideon seemed to relax. "Truthfully... I didn't know about the bunkers back when I confronted you and father. And I don't think I would've cared. In the end, I only wanted to be head. And I suppose I got my divine punishment for my greed."
His face seemed serious and melancholic, a stark contrast from the rest of this trial. "I always liked you, Uncle. Maybe that's why I was so angry you hurt me. But in the end, the only way we can escape the choices we've made is to die. And then it's the living who have to pay the price."

Gideon's words seemed to reassure Heinrich but a lot of sadness clearly remained in him, "Really? You managed to dig up my past but not find the bunkers? I must've hidden those people better than I thought, " Heinrich let out an empty laugh, "You really shouldn't have looked up to me though. I may even be the most hyprocritical member of this family. You see, I've always tried to be selfless but I've never been so. After all, I joined the National Socialists to save my own skin. I wasn't there for my grandson when he needed it. I hid that bunker from everyone just so I could avoid talking about my past. And then there's what I did to you... I won't say what I did. That's something you want the others to solve right? But since you know about my condition, it must be obvious why it had to be done. Listen, I bear you no ill will for taking the headship from me. Maybe Julia got some animal entrails on her apron while cooking, and then fainted in shock after accidentally knocking a bunch of wine bottles over, or was simply playing some sort of prank. And a pronouncement of death from Verrier is worth about as much as your show after that last season finale.

I thought that if I can get to the other side of the island, I could escape Gideon and he won't be able to catch me... It jus so happened that I looked in the rearview mirror, and saw Gideon, or rather my killer, sitting in the seat behind me. He said that he loved how much I break his toys when we were growing up. He thought that he'd take a page out of my book. He covered my mouth so I can't scream and then plunges a knife into my stomach." The mechanic explained with a pained look on his face, recalling his own death.
"And that's all I can remember of my death, so... I don't know how much useful it'll be to help you guys figure out my murder." He added on.

She clears herself in the usual manner and brushes her hair out of her face. "Anyway, soon the shame will destroy this whelp and I will be the one to force him to swallow it. Next theory. The momentum of the car stopping was enough to stab Harley on a knife which was in the car beforehand. The killer is considered to have killed Harley by placing the knife and cutting the brake line."
