I think that "I hate all het/yaoi/yuri/whatever" is incredibly closed-minded and dumb, but rarely do I ever see "I dislike het" coming from a genuinely heterophobic mindset whereas "gay pairings are crazy" all-too-often does. Granted, I'm not gonna think all that highly of anyone who speaks like that either way, but the latter just carries connotations that the former does not.

The fact that he wanted to defend her in court said something. He tells Edgeworth to take care of her. And doesn't he even say something along the lines of "I always believed in you"?
He only takes a client if he believes in them, he inconveinenced a friend to help her, and he later visits her in jail, more then once. I think Phoenix cares a lot about Iris.

x JFA and T&T establish a very specific, brother/sisterly relationship between the two, so romantic relations make it really strange.

SImilar to the above, the games make it clear that Edgeworth and Franziska think of each other as siblings- both directly (Fran calling Edgeworth her "little brother") and more subtley (the ending scene in JFA). With this in mind, not only does a romantic relationship seem incredibly unlikely, it also makes it really strange.
x I just can't see it working out. Even though Franziska doesn't really hate Phoenix after JFA, I don't see anything romantic blooming between them. It just feels pretty contrived.

x / x The main problem I have with PxE is that, even if I can see Edgeworth as gay (or asexual), I can't do the same with Phoenix. He looks heterosexual for me. I can think of Edgeworth having a crush on Phoenix, but not the other way around. Same goes for Franny/Adrian, I see Adrian as lesbian but Franny... she looks just too immature for a relationship either way. And scary. Poor Adrian.
However, I can definitely see why people ships them. It's just... I don't see them.
x / x I'll be repeating the same "siblings" thing said so many times before on this thread. Even if they are not legal siblings, Edgeworth acts as the older brother of Franziska, and Phoenix is sort of a mentor to Maya. There's too much on those relationships to make them interesting without making them fall in love with each other.

Ah, my, I didn't mean to come off as angry. I don't really care what people ship; I was just asking. I know it was a joke on your part, PouchedRat--I wasn't trying to attack you or anything. I've seen it, though, elsewhere. People hating het. I was just wondering why no one seemed to ever react to it.

This one gets done as the previous-generation rivalslash, but I just can't see the basis of that working -- Gregory Edgeworth was a nobody to VK, not a major rival, until the day-of-DL-6. I just don't see the rivalry. (And I'm generally not a fan of pure rivalslash pairings. But I can usually at least understand why people like them. This one, no.)
The two pseudocest pairings -- E/F and P/M. And not just because they get in the way of P/E -- I'm not bothered by flipping the foursome around to Edgeworth/Maya and Phoenix/Franziska, though I don't ship those pairings.
