Lol when I first heard about CR I typed in Court-records.com and there was a like for court documents and stuff and I was like.. "Where's Phoenix !! XD" and I'm like.. "Duh.. It's ".net" lols.." >_> yaa dumb story.

I honestly don't understand why people are so opposed to ads. I have no problem with ads (no popups though) other than that place as many as you like. Can someone fill me in on why people hate ads so much?

I think it's actually a little harder to find now. I only saw it was there because I was actually looking for the thing, so I'm not sure how well it'd work for people that wouldn't know it's there but would want a link like that, and just get scared away by a picture of Apollo looking like he's constipated.

Ads are bad.

But ads are also necessary, and I can see the guy's point. I've wanted to look up a few people's criminal histories using free public records myself (ironically, that's how I eneded up with my fiancee, long story), and I would be a bit miffed if I got here instead of a REAL records-searching site if that was my target.

Ads may suck, but it's all for the best in this case.

Well, I guess there are a number of things I'd like to say in response to this. First off, I agree that since this place is being hosted for us fans for free, it's probably a good thing for the ads. I mean, you can't exactly make that much from donations (although I hope to donate soon). Secondly, I actually don't notice ads that much. As long as they're placed kind of hidden - so that you see them when you actually look at the page, but don't really notice them - it's okay. And you'll make money from page impressions too.

I suppose if you think about it, my forum actually has a few ads as well, but I hardly ever get complaints because they're so strategically placed.

=P if you wanted a 'truely' hidden location, there's always a 0x0 iFrame, or a DIV with display set to hidden.

I support this espically since it's not exaclty gonna be a pop up every other page you go to. and hopefully it's not gonna be those flashy ads you know the ones that say click here to get free stuff or those things with caution on it.
