I believe that Edgey decided to take Gumshoe out to dinner sometime suring 3-5. (I think it was before Trial Day 1) Well, as we all know, Gumshoe has a habit of getting his salary cut, and was used to getting ramen and other really cheap stuff that can be eaten plainly.
Anyway, they decided to go to a pasta resturant near the base of the mountain, and ordered dinner. Since Edgey was paying, and was being very generous that day, he let Gumshoe have some extra cheese (Parmesean(sp?) I believe). Gumshoe started to cry from this generosity.
He took Phoenix there the next day because he loved it so much.
What I'm requesting is the moment Gumshoe gets the cheese and starts crying, please?
