I swear, Justin Chatwin's acting has to be the worst acting I've ever seen.

"I. MUST...AVENGE. HIM."

It looked like he was trying to remember his lines while speaking.

Jeeze, I'm surprised this movie got its own video game.

You know, if I had a PSP, I'd consider buying that. My cousin downloaded it and texted me the other day saying "YAMCHA CALLS OUT HIS FLYING HUMMER FOR HIS SPECIAL."

I was so excited I nearly pissed myself and then I nearly fainted after shouting "FUCK YES!" as loudly as I could in the lounge that I was in.

...Not really, but I thought it was awesome.

I haven't seen this movie and don't really intend to, but knowing and understanding that the source material is Japanese and the subject matter of the show was very intertwined with Chinese mythology, I found it just absolutely typical that the hero was cast as a white guy while everyone else not quite as heroic was kept as an asian. The tagline says it all;

The actor that plays Goku looks like he is sleep deprived.

Yanno. It could have been a LITTLE better if they had something involving the Red Ribbon Army.

What I really didn't like about the movie was Roshi's pronunciation of Kamehameha. It was something like KaMei...HaMeHa. There was also this other advertisement where the announcer said "Get your Ka Mi Ha Mi Ha on", and another where the announcer said "Can you KaMeHaMeHa?". I was watching a Japanese variety show, and the announcer said it right as Kamehameha. It's like only Japanese people can say Kamehameha correctly. I remember it being said correctly on the anime dub in the past, but now it seems their used to saying it as KaMeHaMeHa unfortunately.

Shut up Chow Yun Fat is beyond criticism.

You know this was supposed to be a trilogy right?

Piccolo saga 1st (where's my annoying blue midget?!)

Sayain is next, no so unimportant it's almost sad Raditz. There better be a Mr. Popo or I'm going to kill some people.

3rd is either freiza(Shity CGI version... I can see ya now) or Cell. Cell will be just some bug they find and mutate him to be slighty human. He'll eat people. Or they'll pull a fast ball and make it the Buu saga.

Someone... Give me the name of the first live action movie of dragon ball z. Their roshi looked so like him it was creppy. Oh, the eternal dragon was a puppet too. You know... I'm going to find a copy! Just so I can hurt my mind.

I was kinda curious about the movie. The advertisement sucked but I asked a few friends how it was. Half said wasn't good and others said good so saw it myself. Personally I'd give it a 4/5 also. I mean it wasn't perfect but if I could give it some pros and cons here's what I would give:

Pros:

Fight scenes are actually a little longer than the talking! Couldn't stand how in the anime DB and DBZ series they'd talk for 10 mins and fight half of that time.

I thought they did a good job with Piccolo's outfit. I think they could do the same for Frieza or possibly better if they made a DBZ movie. Actor did a good job for that character's voice.

It had some favorite parts in the movie and it's a movie I watched all the way through. The movie didn't bore me. It was a movie I didn't fall asleep watching. :sawit:

The movie itself did show potential for something "prototypical" (first Dragon Ball movie). I mean if you look at Final Fantasy for example the graphics on the very first game weren't all that great, the plot was ok, and the battle system was so and so (depending on if you like turn-based games) and look how many Final Fantasy games are out now. Just because a game or movie may have started out poor doesn't mean it's not going to have a sequel or more additions in general.

Cons:

Actor who did Goku's part could have done better. How he said some of his lines it didn't sound like he put much effort into 'em.

I found it disappointing Krillin wasn't added into the movie. Some people might think "who cares if he's in it or not" but I could see the last part of the movie a little closer to the series if Krillin fought Piccolo. Just an opinion. I think it'd make a little more sense in the movie if they added him in it. I could also think of other scenes where he could fit in the movie as well.

They didn't mention any of the minor actors and actresses in the movie so those watching the movie might be wondering "who's that?" Example: I don't recall (lemme know if I'm wrong. Maybe I am...only saw the movie once) Mai being mentioned in the movie (not including the ending credits). Also, Mai worked for Pilaf in the series (whereas on here it was Piccolo but I figured it was her because of the appearance and I recall she used a gun in the series). Surprised Pilaf wasn't in the movie either. It seemed like the movie was set up where someone who has seen the series would understand it the best. I dunno...I could be wrong there too. I'm guessing.

Last thing and something a friend of mine mentioned and I'd have to agree: They crammed too much into the movie. The time slot for all of it was seemingly short. I think it would've been better if they had made it a little longer instead of cramming everything in within such a short time slot.

Aside from that I would've given it a 3.5 or 4/5 for 5 stars maybe and for 10 maybe a 7.5/10 or 8/10 at most.

Hey guys I got this on DVD today. It lacks a James Marsters commentary track.

But it does have this.
